Welcome to Turtle Investing
Below is a collection of websites and resources we found useful for beginner to advanced active traders as well as for investors looking to do company research. Each product listed here, we have personally tested and utilized them. Paid services will be labeled.
Disclaimer: We are not associated in any way with any of the sites listed below unless explicitly stated. The list is merely for educational purposes and should be treated as such.
Koyfin - We have found Koyfin to be your all-in-one stop for market research and almost a replacement for the famed Bloomberg Terminal on the Trading side of things. There are functions and tools for both technical analyses as well as fundamental analyses. We are personally surprised that such a service is free of charge. (update Q3 2021, Koyfin now offers premium versions which resulted in the restriction of many services which were previously offered for free)
Simply Wallstreet - This website can be used both as a screener and as well as for fundamental research. Note: the free version is quite limiting in the amount of things you can do such as capped access to stock analysis.
Iborrow Desk - This site should be used to determine the short float and available shortable shares for certain stocks. Keep in mind the data is slightly delated so watch for the "updated" time.
Investing.com - One can use this to check Futures, bonds, and the prices of other tradable assets.
Marketsandmarkets - This site can be used to compare a certain company to its competitors.
Atom finance - This site is for general research and it comes with a paid premium version to unlock additional features similar to Benzinga.
Mining Feeds - For research on Uranium mining companies around the world.
Zacks - For technical research such as Beta values, PS ratio, debt to equity, etc.
Macrotrends - For broad market trends and industry-specific metrics.
PAID Services (We recommend against these resources for beginners)
Bloomberg Terminal ($24,000 usd/ year)- Bloomberg Terminal needs no introduction, it is the most powerful research software on the market today.
S&P Global Market Intelligence ($12,000 usd/ year)- The S&P Capital IQ platform combines deep and broad global financial intelligence with an array of tools for analysis, ideation, and efficiency.
yCharts - ycharts is a great service for searching for company stock details such as P/E ratios and other fundamentals. yCharts offers premium subscription plans however we recommend searching for a stock ticker on google followed by the parameter then ycharts afterwards to directly find details without needing a subscription.
Stock Titan - Best used for pharmaceutical stocks as it contains dates for FDA approvals as well as other important ER dates and news.
This website allows you to filter the most talked about stocks on social media such as on Reddit and Twitter
Yahoo Finance Charting - Great for conducting technical analysis
Federal reserve events calendar - Upcoming US federal reserve events.
Company filings with the SEC - Searcher for US company filings.
Data and chart Visualization - Market activity data sets metrics such as trade to order volume and cancel to trade volume.
Stock Split History - This site is best for American exchange-listed stocks as data for Canadian stocks are sometimes incomplete. One can use this to check how many times a stock has split or reverse split in the past.
Useful data sets for Sector data - Macroeconomic data for different sectors as well as insider holdings.
Longterm Trends - Charts on historical data such as data related to S&P 500 Price to Earnings Ratio, Market Cap to GDP, etc
Track your dividends - Use this to keep track of all your dividend income as well as portfolio gains. We have found this to be the best website for such activities and strongly recommend them.
